Delete your Sojourner Bible account

Applies to Sojourner Bible (iOS and Android), published by VentureLK LLC.

You can delete your account and everything attached to it yourself, from inside the app, at any time. You do not need to contact us and you do not need to explain why.

How to delete your account from the app

  1. Open Sojourner Bible.
  2. Go to the Settings tab.
  3. Under Account, tap Delete account.
  4. Read the confirmation, then tap Delete permanently.

Deletion runs immediately. It cannot be undone.

If you can't reach the app

If you have lost access to your device or cannot sign in, email support@sojournerbible.com from the email address you used to sign in, with the subject Sojourner Bible account deletion. We will delete the account and confirm by reply within 30 days, and normally within a few business days. We ask you to write from the address on the account because that is how we verify the request is yours.

Deleting one voice instead of your whole account

If you only want to remove a voice you created, you do not have to delete your account. In the app, open the Voices tab, tap the … menu next to that voice, and choose Delete voice. That removes the recording, every chapter generated in that voice, and the voice clone itself, and leaves the rest of your account intact.

What is deleted

Deleting your account erases all of the following, permanently:

  • Your account and sign-in record, including your email address.
  • Every voice you created, and the voice clone held by our speech provider, MiniMax.
  • Every voice recording you uploaded or recorded during enrolment.
  • Every chapter of audio generated in your voice, including cached audio.
  • Your bookmarks, playback positions, synthesis history and entitlement records held on our servers.
  • Voices shared with you, and voices you shared with others.

Audio cached on your own device is deleted at the same time, and the Bibles themselves are bundled with the app and hold nothing about you. Uninstalling the app removes whatever remains locally, including your choice of translation.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Purchase and billing records. If you ever subscribed, Apple or Google holds the record of that transaction, and our payments processor RevenueCat holds the matching subscription event. Those are financial records kept under those companies' own retention policies and applicable tax and accounting law; they are not ours to erase. They contain your purchase history and account identifier, not your recordings or generated audio.
  • Nothing else. We keep no copy of your account, recordings, voices or audio after deletion. Our database host may hold routine encrypted backups for a short period under its own schedule; those are never read for any other purpose and age out on their own.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription

A subscription is billed by the store you bought it from, not by us, so it must be cancelled there. Otherwise it will keep renewing after your account is gone.

  • Android: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Sojourner Bible → Cancel.
  • iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Sojourner Bible → Cancel Subscription.

Cancel the subscription first, then delete the account.
